NAC and Unibet help refugees to build a new life in Breda through activities
NAC Maatschappelijk, in cooperation with Unibet, organised three activities for ‘New Breda residents’ in recent weeks.
The participants, who joined the activities, are refugees who have fled from their home countries and are now trying to build a new life in Breda. The participants were paired with NAC supporters, who could tell them more about what the club stands for. The full programme of the activities can be found below.
Last month, the first activity for the new Breda residents was scheduled and the participants were expected at 14:00 in the NACademy. Once everyone was inside, the campaign could kick off with an introductory game. After everyone had introduced themselves and it became clear what the project was about, it was time for a tour of the Rat Verlegh Stadium, concluded with a team photo along the holy grass.
The second activity took place on a sunny Thursday afternoon on 4 May and at 13:00, the refugees were again welcomed at the NACademy. A special guest was also present, namely John Karelse. After lunch, a NAC cycling tour was scheduled. Together with a guide, the new Breda residents cycled past many places in Breda that can be linked to NAC. After the bike ride, the second activity also came to an end.
On Friday 12 May, the refugees came to the Rat Verlegh Stadium for the last activity. At 18.30 everyone gathered in the NACademy to eat together. When everyone had eaten their fill they left for the stands to watch the NAC – Heracles Almelo match. After the match had come to an end, everyone said goodbye to each other and the campaign came to an end. In the video below this post you will find a nice atmospheric impression of this successful day.
