Alcoraz Foundation, LaLiga and others celebrate World Refugee Day
The Alcoraz Foundation and the other clubs involved in the project donated equipment for the refugee children.
The LaLiga and Za’atari Social Project season has come to an end and, coinciding with World Refugee Day, LaLiga and its Foundation organised a series of activities full of excitement and fun in the Za’atari and Azraq Refugee Camps (Jordan). The end of the competitions in which more than 500 children and young people in the U-17, U-14 and U-12 categories participated, also took place.
This initiative was launched by the LaLiga Sports Projects department and the LaLiga FOUNDATION, with the collaboration of AFDP Global (Association Football Development Programme). The Alcoraz Foundation has also participated in this proposal by donating SD Huesca kits to the refugee children.
With their collaboration, and that of the other clubs involved in the project by donating equipment, it has been possible to make this competition a reality.
The aim of this socio-sports programme, which started in September 2018, is to improve the quality of life of refugee children and youth, as well as the empowerment of women and men. These initiatives are realised through their training in sports, using football as a tool to transmit the positive values of sport.
